This book, while nothing new, serves as a good reminder to us all that it's the basics that will continue to keep us in shape long term, at any age - not the fad diets or workouts that are continually popping up year after year. I would have liked to see some more specific exercises offered for older folk, but a good general book nonetheless.
I bought this book for my dad. He is over 60 and he is always exercising. I am happy to know he loves this book. I briefly read the book and I think the concepts and ideas on the book like hypertrophy, metabolism all play into affect for people but it is even more important when people get older. Obviously I recommend this book for all older people
The book did a great job in simplifying exercise and fitness. The author did a great job explaining the exact way to achieve your health goals. Especially for seniors, it is incredibly important to focus on your health and energy to live a life full of energy to be able to play with your kids or grandchildren. Great step by step book.
Age is just a number. What matters is how we take care of our health.
This book helped me to remind my parents to exercise and live a healthy lifestyle.
Since I am still young, it also suits me because I can find the most appropriate
way to exercise and maintain a fit body. If our health is at its best, we can then
do anything we want, especially achieving our goals in life. Having a healthy
and positive attitude will result in a better health. Another fun and bonding time
is cooking and doing exercise together with a partner or a group. In that way,
working out will not be boring because you have company. It may be better if the
book focuses more on how elderly people will become
motivated to exercise and stay active because working out is a commitment.
It should also state what are those food that will be appropriate to eat
and what are those to avoid especially for the the elderly since eating healthy
and working out come together.
I smiled as I read this book because I found fascinating ideas compared to other books. There are many points that caught my attention, but the one that stood out are the references that give scientifically proven statements. These convinced me to believe in the inspiring thoughts and messages for the elderly. I appreciate the pictures in every chapter as it helped me have a deeper understanding of the book minus the boredom. I am definitely recommending this book to my parents and I will be happy to join them for a walk in the park at dawn, which is a fun and awesome activity to get fit.
