It has been five years since Kathy threw Carl out of their apartment but when a snafu snags the production of her current fiance's video game, she knows Carl is the one to clean it up so she doesn't have to postphone her wedding to Mark...again. I loved watching the action as Carl is trying to fix the game and convince himself that he is not still attracted to Kathy and Kathy is daily giving thanks for her perfect finance....but! I liked the characters, there are some very funny supporting cast members in this book. Ms.O'Toole is a good writer with witty dialogue. Though it is about video game programming, it is easily understood by the technically challenged. For me, it was a fun read, sexy without being porn. I am keeping this book.Product details

This is a good easy read. I liked the different type of subject matter, gaming development, vs the usual internet espionage that can be kind of dark.
This is my first book review; I haven't felt the need to write one until now. For this book, I have to. I'm a website designer, so the world of game design and programming that Leana paints here is not unlike my experiences and I found it to be true to life and absolutely hilarious. For any non-techies out there, don't worry, this isn't something you need inside information to understand.
The characters were well-rounded and fun to read, the dialogue flowed wonderfully and was very witty. I loved how Kathy or Carl, the main characters, would try to convince themselves that they thought or felt one thing, while doing something totally different. This is an inconsistency that is real and allows you to get a glimpse into the character's true feelings and motivations without the author TELLING you what they are. Because of that, the romance was wonderful, a few scenes were pretty hot, but this is not "erotic", and I loved that. The true reasons for the romance had nothing to do with physical attraction.
Lastly, I cannot complete this review without mentioning the fan boys who become a big part of the story - they are spot on. I laughed out loud so many times (or as L. M. Montgomery would have it, smiled audibly) - thoroughly enjoyed myself. This one goes right into my "read again" pile - I cannot recommend it enough. If you love a great romance, enjoy reading something laugh out loud funny, watch The Big Bang Theory, know any hardcore gamers, or are one yourself, this book is for you.
